POPping mail results in the error

Symptom: Customer reports the following error when attempting to check email via a POP session: "The server responded: -ERR You have exceeded the number of connections you are permitted to make per hour. Please wait a couple of minutes and try again."

Cause: Restrictions are put in place from time to time to diagnose issues with the POP engine or to prevent flooding via the POP service.

Resolution: Reset the time between attempts to two minutes or higher in the email client.
