How to get back to the Wordpress classic editor after upgrading to v5+

Log in to the Wordpress dashboard. Choose Plugins from the left navigation column. Choose "Add New" at the top of the screen. In the search box at the upper right, type in "classic editor", and the first result will be the classic editor plugin. Choose install to install it, and then activate it. To have all users utilize the classic editor, log in the Wordpress dashboard  and select Settings -> Writing. For "Default editor for all users" select "Classic" and save the settings. This will show the classic interface in the editing screens within Wordpress. To lock the interface for all users, toggle the option under "Default editor" to disallow users from changing the interface option when editing.
