To increase the max_input_vars required by a script if the system value is insufficient, the following directive can be placed in a .htaccess file under the public_html of the account (to apply to all sites under an account) or into a subdirectory for a single site that requires the higher value:
php_value max_input_vars nnnn
where nnnn is an integer denoting the high limit of the value. For instance
php_value max_input_vars 3000
will set the max_input_vars to 3000 as the upper limit.
